BEST PLACES TO LIVE

Naples In Top 10

Named after its likeness in the sunny Italian Peninsula, Naples is a city in Southwest Florida which has long been hailed for its pleasant weather, abundant fishing resources, and more recently; luxury resorts and real estate as well as a high quality lifestyle. With multiple waterfront homes and canals, the area is a water lover’s dream, so it’s no surprise that the U.S and World News ranked Naples in top 10 places to live.

The U.S and World News surveyed 150 of the most populated areas. To make the top of the list, a place had to have good value, be a desirable place to live, have a strong job market and a high quality of life. Naples was ranked at number 7, and is the highest ranking Floridian city. Melbourne and Sarasota are the only other Florida cities on the list, at number 18 and number 9 respectively.

The survey describes Naples Florida as the perfect living and retirement spot, with its pristine beaches, sprawling golf courses, fine dining, and shopping. Not many realize that Naples also has a thriving farming community in its rural areas, producing a lot of fresh produce for the country.

Naples is not just for the retirement demographic however. There are tons of families and kids in Naples…the public school system alone has over 55,000 kids! For those even younger, without kids ~ Naples is just a two hour drive from bustling Tampa and just over an hour to Fort Lauderdale, Miami and South Beach. The city itself has its active shopping boulevards and bustling tourist sites, including art centers, malls, and seaside beaches. Many people flock towards Naples during the winter months to enjoy Florida’s endless sunshine and heat. Therefore, second homes and seasonal traffic are common in the city.

Naples has a high score in desirability, meaning that many people aim to live there. It also has good scores in the job market, meaning there is a good chance of employability for those looking to move there. The quality of life score and net migration are also quite high. The only index that Naples did not rank highly in is “value”. This index is also called the housing affordability index, and due to the number of people who move to Naples, this score is lower. Because Naples is so desirable, our inventory of available homes has diminished over the past 2 years, driving up prices. Make sure you search our properties, filter by square feet needed, price, etc. to dial into the homes which fit your wish list.

The overall score for Naples in terms of it being a good place to live is 7.2, which is quite good. Naples also made it to number 4 in the list of Best Places to Retire in the U.S! This is, of course, no surprise, as the waterfront homes are ideal for older people to relax and unwind.
